How to use Rust Inhibiting Coatings

Wear correct protective gear and gloves. Start with a clean and dry part.
Coat the part evenly on all surfaces by immersing, spraying or brushing on coating.
Dip/Immersion
Spray
Brush, Roller or Wipe on
Drip or hang-dry part until no dripping liquid is noted.
Keep your part clean and rust free in shipping or storage with additional protection from Zerust® bags.

Directions for use: Axxanol™ 33

  1. Make sure parts are clean and dry.
  2. Wear gloves when handling parts to avoid corrosion causing fingerprints.
  3. Apply in a well ventilated area.
  4. Spray, slush, brush or dip metal parts with Axxanol™ 33. Use NIOSH approved mist or air supplied respirator when material is sprayed.
  5. Package parts using Zerust® materials for added corrosion protection.
  6. Ship or store parts in protected storage (protects up to eight months under shelter).

Removal:

Zerust® Axxanol™ 33 can be easily removed by using any commercially available alkaline cleaner or solvent. Always check with your customer to see if removal of Axxanol™ 33 is required prior to the use of the protected parts.

Directions for use: 46-Bio

  1. Make sure that metal surfaces are clean and free of contaminants such as dirt, oil, fluids, etc.
  2. Apply a thin coat of Zerust® Axxanol™ 46-BIO to parts using pressurized air or airless sprayer or other light misting, brushing or dipping methods.
  3. Allow excess Zerust® Axxanol™ 46-BIO to drain, drip off, or wipe off excess with a clean lint-free cloth. The product will leave behind a thin corrosion inhibiting residual film that will provide full protection.
  4. Use in conjunction with packaging film, such as LDPE, barrier material for a more robust solution that protects parts from corrosion for five years or more.
  5. Storage: Keep containers closed when not in use. Store out of direct sunlight in a cool environment. Wash thoroughly after handling. Notice: Since product is a bio-based vegetable oil some darkening of the product color may occur when it comes in contact with light and air. Discoloration will not affect product performance.

Removal:

Axxanol™ 46-BIO is easily removed with common aqueous-based household or industrial detergents. As a consideration, it is recommended that environmentally compliant (Green) cleaners be used, an example of which is Simple Green.

Directions for use: Axxanol™ 8110

  1. Make sure metal surfaces and parts within the system are as clean as possible.
  2. Mix Axxanol™8110 with coolant or hydraulic fluid in a ratio of 1 part Axxanol™8110 to 10 parts fluid.
  3. Wear gloves to avoid corrosion caused by fingerprints on metal surfaces and parts.
  4. Add Axxanol™ 8110/fluid mixture to your cooling or hydraulic system.
  5. The system will be protected for up to six months.

If used as a rinse or temporary coating (a few hours) prior to packaging in Zerust® Film, mix Axxanol™ 8110 with de-ionized water in a ratio of 1 part Axxanol™ 8110 to 10 parts water.

Removal:

Flush system with de-ionized water or rinse parts to remove Axxanol™ 8110.

Directions for use: Axxatec™ 77C

  1. Make sure parts are clean and dry.
  2. Dilute Axxatec™ 77C with deionized or reverse osmosis water (recommended for optimum performance) in a ratio of 1 part Axxatec™ 77C to 24 parts water. Use vigorous agitation when mixing
  3. Wear gloves when handling parts to avoid corrosion causing fingerprints.
  4. Spray, brush or dip metal parts into diluted Axxatec™ 77C.
  5. Air dry. Drying time is approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Ship or store parts in protected storage (protects up to four months under shelter).

Removal:

Zerust® Axxatec™ 77C can be easily removed by using any commercially available alkaline cleaner or solvent. Always check with your customer to see if removal of Axxatec™ 77C is required prior to the use of the protected parts.

Directions for use: Z-Maxx

  1. Make sure parts are clean and dry.
  2. Wear gloves when handling parts to avoid corrosion from fingerprints.
  3. Make sure the part temperature is near to the ambient temperature when coating.
  4. Apply Z-Maxx at room temperature with brush or roller and remove any excess materials.
  5. Use or store parts in protected storage for up to 2 years or outdoors for 9-12 months

Removal:

Zerust® Z-Maxx can be removed by using any commercially available solvent and/or alkaline cleaner. Always check with your customer to see if removal of Z-Maxx is required prior to the use of the protected parts.
